Washington, DC— Following her recent blame on the weather for recent economic struggles, Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen has finally admitted to what countless Federal Reserve detractors and international economists have been accusing her and the central bank of for years: being Milli Vanilli fans.
“You caught me,” stated Yellen. “I didn’t even think about the repercussions that would come from referencing the song ‘Blame It On the Rain‘ by Milli Vanilli, but now it’s out in the open. I am… a Milli Vanilli fan.”
Milli Vanilli was an R&B/pop music group from Germany that was outed as the lip-syncing routine of two male models, Fab Morvan and Rob Pilatus. The puppeteer-like act never recovered, but many former fans still consider Milli Vanilli to be a guilty pleasure.
When asked what relevance Yellen’s reference to a lip-syncing group when explaining the economy through the eyes of the Federal Reserve, economist Stanley Gould burst into uncontrollable laughter.
