Reykjavik, ICELAND: Iceland’s president, Olafur Ragnar Grimsson, held a press conference this morning with international journalists to state for the record that Iceland is indeed a country.
“People usually confuse us with being a territory of Greenland, if they even know that much,” stated President Grimsson. “The truth is, we are a UN recognized independent country, complete with a government, courts, and even a few citizens that aren’t polar bears.”
Grimmson also tried to alleviate fears that they were still “a bunch of blood-thirsty Vikings living in ice caves.” He then took the remaining journalists on a tour of his axe collection.
