When Disney first bought out Lucasfilm back in October, Star Wars fans cringed at the initial thought of the family-friendly animation juggernaut getting its hands on their reason for living. I was among them.
Then our fears were lessened when the first thing Disney did was stop the latest redux of the Star Wars franchise, 3-D. It was a move away from rehashing the same old thing over and over in George Lucas films that was satirized and parodied by South Park and Family Guy repeatedly.
Things seem peaceful for the galaxy far, far away as Disney plans to release a film that will continue the Star Wars story into Episode 7 in 2015. But it is in peaceful times that The Dark Side is able to grow strongest, when it is believed to be gone.
So, here are some screen shots from our nightmares of what Disney could do to Star Wars and other films of George Lucas.
Leia Mouse may very well make an appearance if Disney ever pulls the trigger on another re-re-re-re-release of Star Wars.
Wampas won’t be the only thing that eat humans in a Disney/Star Wars mash-up.
Most Disney villains end up being women, which may cause a sex-change from Emperor Palpatine to Empress Maleficent.
A pod racing spin-off may involve…cars. Unfortunately, it will probably improve the criticism of Episode I.
Wall-E may make a comeback as a replacement for any number of Star Wars robots.
Star Wars isn’t the only thing that may be thrown into the re-make grinder. For some, this may mean an improvement to Howard the Duck, but we enjoy the movie as it is: classically awful.
It’s been a while since Mickey Mouse’s work in Fantasia was relevant. A remake of Willow could spark a comeback.
