New York, NY: It is official. After years of suspicion, conjecture, and supposition, Kathy Griffin is finally aware that Anderson Cooper is gay.
In an email to Daily Beast reporter Andrew Sullivan, CNN reporter and, more recently, daytime talk-show host Anderson Cooper acknowledged his homosexuality, and allowed it to be publicized, leading to cheers from fans, and confusion from people who just see Anderson Cooper as that really sharp international correspondent that just seemed a bit gay.
While the coming out of Cooper hasn’t been met with hostility, the reactions have not been quite so politically correct.
“He(Anderson Cooper) never came out? I guess my Gaydar actually works!” stated local New Yorker Troy Brees. “I figured that one out when I first mistook him for Tilda Swinton.”
“He’s better off as gay, to be honest,” explained gay activist Brendan Miles. “I think he was trying to make sure his reporting skills weren’t undervalued by the public because he’s a gay man. But when he started that talk show and wearing those skinny jeans, he had to come out, because there is nothing worse than a straight 45 year old man wearing skinny jeans.”
Kathy Griffin, close friend and co-anchor of Anderson Cooper’s, seemed the most surprised by the news, releasing more columns about why she didn’t tell than were written about Anderson’s outing itself.
