Tampa, FL: The roster confusion within the New York Yankees continues, as perennial Yankee Andy Pettitte once again signed with the team, this time to a minor league deal with the possibility of being signed to a major league contract.
The real confusion began in the realm of social media, as fans began to interchange the words “re-sign” and “resign”, turning the signing into an update fiasco.
“In the past 24 hours, Any Pettitte has re-signed with the Yankees twenty times, and resigned from the team almost fifty times,” explained Yankees general manager Brian Cashman. “At least, that’s what my Twitter feed told me. Until he shows up, I really don’t know what to believe.”
While many believe the word interchange is merely a typo, reports are steadfast in milking the hourly signing change for all the news is worth.
“Listen, if the Andy Pettitte Facebook Fan-Page and NY Yankees twitter feed are going to continually change the details of the signing every hour, it’s a signing change to me and I’m going to report it,” explained beat reporter Paul Emmerlan. “I’ll just change it again when a new, exclusive change in syntax happens.”
In other news, Andy Pettitte himself has flown from Texas to Florida ten times in the past two days due to conflicting reports on whether he has re-signed or resigned from the Yankees.
