Welcome back to another entry of In Case You Wish You Missed It, the news you wish wouldn’t happen but, somehow, does.

There was a time, long ago, in a galaxy far, far away, when the news reported on presidential campaigns instead of trying to steer them; when debates were recorded as news reports, not television shows focused on ratings; when the job of a debate moderator was to ask candidates the tough questions in order to make their political ties and aims transparent for the potential voter.

Now, one news channel fights to relive those glory days of journalistic integrity. That channel is… Fox News!?

I couldn’t believe it, either, but it’s true. Leading up to the final push for support in Iowa by Republican presidential candidates, Thursday night’s debate will be without the ratings draw that comes with, “What Will The Donald Say Next?” because Fox News pretty much said, “Hell no! Sit and spin!” when Donald Trump mandated that the hard-hitting Megyn Kelly could not be the debate’s moderator if they wanted him present.

Yes, the hard-hitting news journalist on right-laying Fox News, Megyn Kelly. It’s not like Rachel Maddow is the moderator. It’s a conservative news journalist on a conservative news network, and Trump can’t handle it. I guess when you think you can shoot people on 5th Ave, you think you can also cause media blackouts to news outlets that don’t ask you what your favorite color is.

Good for you, Fox. This week, you have become a news network. You’re still not a news network whose channel I will memorize to pull up quickly, but a news network nonetheless.
