We would like to welcome Kipp Wieland to our little satirical Manson family. Kipp will be honoring us with a bit of social commentary spanning from artistic integrity to comparisons between the cereals Pops™ and Smacks™(at least, I think that’s what he’ll be doing.)

So, as a biography, I give you Kipp’s introductory letter.

I am Kipp Wieland

by Kipp Wieland

Your writer, Vance, found me via Alex Jones’ comments I think. Anyway, I have been talking to him for a few months now and for some reason he thinks I can write. The fact is that I DO write, but only to communicate to others. Ever since I first got on I have written a novel’s worth of correspondence, I suppose. I am an artist by trade and a musician everywhere else.

Kipp Wieland

I live in Iowa, and have no plans of ever leaving the best kept secret in the U.S. I attended the Kansas City Art Institute in 1983-84 on a scholarship that I promptly blew being nineteen and having all the answers to the world’s problems at that time. I returned to Iowa afterward with a 1.58 GPA and a strong desire to play music. I have pretty much been here ever since aside from a two-year residence in Chicago as an artist, which was interesting at best-frightening at worst. Too crowded and the people aren’t from Iowa.

I write like I talk. I have a terrible habit of using the dash in place of a comma. I also tend to add a lot of ” comma-man’s”. Example: He was so full of shit, he was like John Wayne’s corpse, man.

Other than that and a few “you knows”, I try to use proper punctuation and check my spelling. Subjects I am familiar with the most would be music and being in bands, food, living in Iowa, and just ranting on about my opinions and life experiences. I can tell a good story once in a while, so here’s a true tale from art school. The Stretch character is real, and that is the name he goes by. He stayed for the full four years and now does installations of his glass and metal sculptures all around the world. I have talent so I ended up clocking in at a toy company every day for a paycheck as an artist.

The stories are lengthy I suppose, but I talk as much as is needed to get the story across. I don’t know if I would be of any use to you, but I do write. Whether I call myself a writer or not I will continue to rant on in this manner. Thanks for reading.
